Greg S asked: I was trying to buy some shares of Casual Male (CMRG) on my Scottrade account and it said I couldn’t place a market order for shares valued less than a dollar. Is this some kind of standard that I don’t know about, or is it something specific to my account. When I attempted to make the transaction I was trying to buy 100 shares @ 0.40 each. And yes I have the available balance to do it.
I did try it out and it wouldn’t let me buy because it said market orders can not be made for shares valued less than a dollar. Can anyone actually answer my question?
